George Stephanopoulos said at the end of Sunday’s “This Week” that it was his final regular appearance as anchor of the show, TVNewser reports.

He started as co-anchor of the network’s “Good Morning America” last month. No replacement has been named.

  1. Let me see if I have the digression correct.
Charles Gibson retires from WORLD NEWS…a big loss to the audience, a bigger loss to ABC News.
The “brilliant” ABC News Chiefs move Diane Sawyer into the nightly anchor chair, a position for which she is ill suited…she’s terrific with features and GMA, where her ratings are great.
Then the “Chiefs” move George to GMA, where he is ill suited, taking him out of THIS WEEK, where he has done splendidly following the late, iconic David Brinkley.
All these bad decisions now leave ABC with THREE slots to fill…an anchor for WORLD NEWS, a host for THIS WEEK and a co-host for GMA.
The ABC News Chiefs must be drinking the same Manhattan-Based “Bad Decisions” Cool-Aid served at 30 Rock.
