TVWeek Open Mic blogger Chuck Ross was your insider at the TCA session on Sunday, Jan. 10, in which NBC Universal Television Entertainment Chairman Jeff Gaspin explained why he was cancelling Jay Leno’s primetime show and trying to build a new latenight schedule.

What the hell’s really going on with these moves? Ross thinks he knows, and he shares it with you if you click here.

  1. Moving Jay to 10PM was a dumb-ass move long before it ever got on paper, much less on-air.
If heads aren’t rolling at 30 Rock, then their problems are even deeper.
I don’t see a thirty minute JAY working and I don’t see Conan’s people laying down and taking the later start.
My guess, somebody will quit and the Peacock will be writing some hefty checks, (just what the old bird’s coffers need, another preening).
Oh, well, all’s fair in rock ‘n roll AND TV.
Stick around, this story has more pages to it.
