Big Change in Letterman’s Writers’ Room

Feb 4, 2010  •  Post A Comment

The writers’ room at CBS’ “Late Show With David Letterman” has made a major change, The New York Times reports.

The program has now added a female writer, Jill Goodwin, to its staff, making it no longer a purely male bastion. Goodwin, who has been on staff at the show since 2001 and was considered in line for a promotion, was most recently an assistant for the writing team.

  1. Oh good..a female outlook in the Writers Room! Wow! I find the writing on the show absolutely WONDERFUL…the best Late Night Writers anywhere…maybe Televisions Best Writers, but now I can rest easy that a woman will be in there pitching…you know, a great addition…like the woman on the sidelines at NFL Football Games! Wow! I would miss THEM like I would miss a debilatating headache! Hey this could be a payoff for David’s messing around with the female staff…a promised promotion??Who knows..maybe they could come up with a top 10 reasons to have a female on the writing staff and run out after number 9.
    Sheeesh!

  2. This is the second sarcastic post I’ve read from you today, Jack. Is it that time of the month?
