Ion Television has announced some major programming acquisitions, reports B&C.

The network has acquired "The Godfather" movie trilogy from Paramount Pictures.

Furthermore it has licensed shows from Twentieth Television and Warner Bros. Television Distribution, including two seasons of  "Shark" with James Woods and four seasons of the syndicated legal reality show "Texas Justice."

According to the article, "Ion climbed out of bankruptcy in December, wiping away $2.7 billion in legacy debt and preferred stock claims. At the time, Chairman/CEO Brandon Burgess said Ion had $150 million in "growth funding" to acquire programming and build the Ion brand."

  1. If Ion wants to be a major player, quit buying trashy old Canadian shows. “Durham County” and you new premiere in March… a prime example of what you should not do. Don’t tell us that it’s “original”, when GLOBAL has it already! Remember, Detroit gets Global on Channel 22…so please be honest with us too.
By the way, I’m not convinced “Durham” is even a success… even with the constant re-runs of it. Sure seeing the same eps 4x is great, but burns easy. Example… Your same exact “premiere” every night at 10….not a good move.
Also ake ION LIFE… that’s what you should not do… old Canadian garbage shows. It’s clearly not winning. That’s why you appear to be changing “ION life” into “THIS TV.” Making a local Movie network might be ok. People are talking about “THIS TV”, ON WDIV-2. So, there is some buzz about that.
The above tells me why you may have had some bad financial times.
Go for “Made in America,” quit buying Junk shows that are not proven, such as “EARL,” (Yes on other locals, it’s not rating well.)

  2. It seems that most of the commenters dont even read the post till the end.

  3. I am extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the nice quality writing, it’s rare to see a nice blog like this one these days.. 🙂
