NBC Considering Dumping West Coast Tape-Delay for Emmy Show

Feb 5, 2010  •  Post A Comment

With the rise of Twitter, Facebook and mobile news apps that spread the word about awards show winners instantaneously, NBC is giving serious consideration to scrapping tape delays and airing the Emmy Awards live across all time zones, when it broadcasts the show on Aug. 29, B&C reports.

The network did the same with the Jan. 17 Golden Globes awards show, which it had previously held for tape delay in Western time zones.

NBC and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences declined to comment.

  1. Please, Please, Please do this. Tape delaying for the west coast productions that are done live on the west coast has always been a really bad idea. And it is absolutely not fair to the tens of millions of people that live here.

  2. I am not in fact definite if top tactics cover emerged almost things like that, other than I am sure that your large work is obviously recognized. I was wondering if you offer some membership to your RSS feeds as I would be very concerned.
