On Wednesday Feb. 10, the “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” had 11.89 million viewers, its biggest audience in more than four years, B&C reports.

The reason: It was the day of a major snow storm on the East Coast..

For the week, the program had an average 11.04 million viewers, far above its norm. Meanwhile the show’s weekend editions pulled even bigger numbers, thanks to the opening weekend of Olympics coverage. “Nightly News” drew 12.36 million viewers on Saturday and 13.92 million on Sunday.

  1. It doesn’t hurt that Diane Sawyer is so annoying. Now people will discover that Brian Williams is actually the best, although Katie Couric has improved a lot. Any network but ABC at this point. And I’m a woman so it’s not a sexist thing.
If you’ve ever watched Brian Williams on The Daily Show you realize he’s got a terrific sense of humor and is very intelligent.

  2. I don’t care for any of them really, but I like Sawyer better than the others. Couric is a drip and Williams is a dud. NONE of them match the grace of Peter Jennings, though.
I think NBC News’ ratings spike was due mainly to the Olympics, and the coverage of the accident and death of the luge athlete from Georgia.

  3. Interesting layout on your blog. I really enjoyed reading it and also I will be back to read more in the future.
