Spike TV gave the greenlight to a golf-themed series pilot with a sex-addicted Tiger character, but insists that the character was thought up well before Tiger Woods’ recent marital troubles, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

“Back Nine” stars John Schneider (“The Dukes of Hazzard”) as a washed-up former golf star who still competes in small-time tournaments. He has a longtime caddy named Tiger who is a sex addict.

The network said the series has been in development for nearly a year, and the Tiger character was in the early script well before Woods’ troubles came to light in November, THR reports.
