ABC Family’s hit series "The Secret Life of the American Teenager,’ which deals with teen pregnancy among other issues, will get a very high profile guest star this summer when the show comes back for season number three, ABC Family has announced.

The guest star is Bristol Palin, daughter of former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

"Bristol Palin is the most famous teenage mother in America. We’re thrilled to have her join us, and I think she will bring additional attention to the issues facing teen parents that we’ve been exploring for a couple of seasons now," said series Executive Producer Brenda Hampton in a statement.

According to ABC Family’s release, "Palin will be playing herself, as one of Amy’s (Shailene Woodley) friends at a music program for teen mothers."

Bristol Palin commented in a statement, "I am thrilled to be on this show and to be a part of a program that educates teens and young adults about the consequences of teen pregnancy.”

  1. Guess the Jerry Springer or Jersey Shore just didn’t offer you enough money did they? And just how many unwed teenage mothers drive around in a Cadillac Escalade? What a shining example to all sexually active teenagers and pure brilliancy to steal a page right out of Octomom’s playbook! After all pregnancy DOES pay bringing one fame and riches right?
Well Ms. Ricky Hollywood, while you are exploring your ‘acting’ career we can but hope that you will not be following in your mother’s hypocritical footsteps by exploiting your child to make a buck off of him. And remember, he has a father who would be more than happy to look after him while you are trying to explain why you were against abstinence before you were for it, before you mother got to you.
“Mirror, mirror on the wall, I am my mother after all”.

  2. Yeah right, Peyton…a father who would be happy to take care of the kid when he’s not posing naked for Playgirl and promoting pistachio nuts. He had a chance to earn an honest living in the oil drilling business, but the call of fame (dubious fame at that) was too much.
Bristol Palin’s plight isn’t unique, but if her indirect celebrity status (nothing she sought initially, remember, but which was forced on her by circumstances) allows her to share a message w/others that’s positive, so be it. What do you care, anyway, Peyton? You’re not gonna watch that show.

  3. Yeah, Peyton…Jeez, could you be more hateful? Even if you tried? If her being on the show attracts a larger audience, isn’t she doing us all a favor? By the way, Bristol couldn’t make it on Springer…the line of freaks goes around the next block. She’s just not that interesting.

  4. Beautiful, just beautiful! Love to see stories that make you feel good. Too bad we do not get more of these. This made my heart smile
