Peter Chernin Scouting a Cable Channel Acquisition

Feb 24, 2010  •  Post A Comment

Former top News Corp. executive Peter Chernin has hired three business development executives for his new company and has his eyes set on acquiring a cable channel, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Cable channels that are thought to be for sale include the Gospel Music Channel, arts network Ovation TV, the Tennis Channel and music network Fuse.

The Times was not able to say exactly which cable network or networks has caught Chernin’s eye.

Among his new staff members working on possible acquisitions is Jesse Jacobs, a former Goldman Sachs banker, the paper says.
