‘Survivor’ Off to a Fast Start in the Nielsens

CBS’ latest edition of "Survivor" — "Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains" — got off to a brisk start in the Thursday night ratings, pulling a 4.6 and 4.5, respectively in the first two hours, according to TVbythenumbers.com.

NBC’s "Community" and "Parks & Recreation" both netted a 2.3 in their halves of the 8 o’clock hour, besting ABC’s "The Deep End" and CW’s "The Vampire Diaries" which both earned a 1.5.

Trailing the second hour of "Survivor" was ABC’s "Grey’s Anatomy" with a 4.3 in the 18-49, ahead of NBC’s "The Office" and "30 Rock" with a 3.7 and 2.9, respectively. Fox’s "Past Life" had a 1.4 and CW’s "Supernatural" eeked out a 1.0.

CBS surged to the top of the 10 o’clock hour with "The Mentalist" getting a 3.6. ABC’s "Private Practice" stayed close with a 3.2 in the 18-49 demo.
