Writer-Director Garry Marshall Wants to Make ‘Laverne & Shirley: The Movie’ and You’ll Never Guess Who Want to Play the Leads

Writer-director Garry Marshall ("Valentine’s Day," "Pretty Woman") wants to remake the popular classic sitcom, "Laverne & Shirley," as a feature film, he’s told "Extra."

And guess who told "Extra" that they want to play the leads: Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel.

When "Extra" asked Garner if she and Biel wanted to play the parts in a movie version, Garner said, "Are you kidding? We’re dying to do it!"

As for the possible participation of original cast members Penny Marshall (Garry’s sister, who played Laverne) and Cindy Williams (Shirley) in the film, Garry Marshall told  "Extra" jokingly, "My sister Penny and Cindy are gonna have a guest cameo. They’re gonna walk "schlemiel, schlemazel" — or they’re gonna get tired in the middle and sit down."
