Basketball Rules in Thursday Night Nielsens

CBS’s March Madness secured a solid victory in the Thursday night Nielsen race, with the double-header of games sweeping aside the competition, according to TVbythenumbers.com.

At 8 PM, the NCAA coverage for the hour averaged a 3.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic, while NBC’s "Community" and "Parks & Recreation" collected a 2.0 and 1.9 respectively. ABC’s "FlashForward" averaged a 1.8 for the hour and CW’s "Vampire Diaries" was 1.5 in the 18-49 for the hour.

At nine o’clock, basketball on CBS had a 4.0 average in the 18-49 demo, with ABC’s "Grey’s Anatomy" getting closer with a 3.6 average. NBC’s "The Office" and "30 Rock" were next with a 3.5 and 2.9, respectively. CW’s "Supernatural" fell behind with a 1.2 in the 18-49 rating.

With a 3.9 average rating in the 18-49 demo, CBS stayed on top from 10-11. ABC’s "Private Practice" averaged a 2.95 rating and NBC’s "The Marriage Ref" remained competitive with a 2.5 average in the 18-49 demo.
