The CW’s president of entertainment Dawn Ostroff, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, said as the number of DVR and streaming viewers continues to rise, she finds it difficult to see a situation where the live Nielsen numbers for shows like "Gossip Girl" or "90210" will ever go up. 

"I do think as more and more people are migrating to their DVR and streaming shows, I think it’s going to be harder and harder to envision our Nielsen numbers going up," she said. 

Ostroff did reiterate that The CW is still pleased with the results of "Gossip" and "90210." She also talked a little about the futures of "One Tree Hill" and "Life Unexpected," saying that the network is encouraged by both of them, but it is too soon to tell if a pickup is in their futures.
