Confirming previously reported speculation, Tiger Woods confirmed today that he will be playing golf in the Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, reports B&C.
CBS and ESPN will both benefit from the golfer’s return to the game, with Nielsen ratings expected to climb once he’s back on the links. The Masters is scheduled April 5-11. ESPN’s coverage is April 7-9; CBS’ is April 10-11.
In a statement released to the media, Woods said, "The Masters is where I won my first major and I view this tournament with great respect. After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I’m ready to start my season at Augusta."
Woods has won The Masters in 1997, 2001, 2002 and 2005. Last year’s winner was Angel Cabrera.
