Fox News has opted to remove an interview with rapper LL Cool J from the premiere episode of "Real American Stories," hosted by Sarah Palin, after complaints surfaced from the rapper, the New York Times reports.
LL Cool J, whose real name is James Todd Smith, complained on Twitter Tuesday that the interview was being misrepresented on advertisements for the program. He wrote that he shot the interview in 2008, but it was cut to make it seem like he was promoting Palin’s show.
Fox News issued a statement saying Smith’s story was uplifting and inspiring. "However, as it appears that Mr. Smith does not want to be associated with a program that could serve as an inspiration to others, we are cutting his interview from the special," Fox News said.
Nice spin, FOX! Take a 2-year-old soundbite out of context to promote a show, then when the subject complains, you passive-aggressively blame him. Well done! Fair and balanced, indeed.

Really! It’s heinous to run an inspirational 2-year old interview! Those inspiring words mean nothing now.
So do you think the hosts on 20/20 are out doing all those interviews? I never once assumed Sarah Palin was interviewing – just hosting – as it’s done on network news products all the time.

When he did the interview two years ago, he did NOT endorse Palin’s show. (There was no mention of who did the actual interview.)
