Report: In the 25th Hour, NBC Might be Interested in Picking Up ’24’

Despite a number of press reports that for all intents and purposes this will be the last TV season of "24" on Fox, Michael Ausiello–who’s got a good track record with scoops–reports for EW that NBC could pick up the drama thriller for next season.

Ausiello writes, "Multiple sources confirm to me exclusively that 20th Century Fox has approached NBC about picking up the series should Fox opt to cancel it — and the Peacock is considering it. “There’s definitely some interest,” says an insider close to the talks."

He also says that an NBC pick-up of "24" would be a long-shot, given the "hefty price tag" of the show. Ausiello says that both the producers of the show (Twentieth) and NBC "declined comment" about his story.

Also, as previously reported, if "24" does not make it back to TV, there is a feature film version in the works.

  1. The best drama on TV, BY FAR! would be disappointed to see it go.

  2. NBC FOR SURE WILL FLOP AS DOES ALL OF NBC AGAIN THEY FALL SHORT IN COMMING UP WITH SOME THING NEW!! DOES NOT SURPRIZE ME AT ALL!!

  3. “The following takes place between cleaning out my locker at FOX & and my near-certain takeover of NBC’s prime time lineup”.
I’m not sure the Impossible Missions Force could save NBC’s schedule, let alone Jack Bauer. But I’d love to watch the train wreck as it progressed. Go NBC!
