Paula Abdul is in final talks to join a new show that would air on ABC, EW.com reports in a scoop by Michael Ausiello.

The former “American Idol” judge is likely to act as host and a judge on a new version of "Star Search," EW says. ABC declined to comment to EW.

It’s unclear if the new gig would preclude a role for her on Simon Cowell’s upcoming “The X Factor,” which is headed to Fox in 2011.
