A new survey by the Pew Internet and American Life Project shows that Americans are getting the news from emails,Web sites and social media networks more than newspapers and radio, reports CNN.com.

However, television is the No. 1 way people learn of news, with 78 percent of respondents claiming to watch local news and 73 percent revealing that they watch national news or the major cable network news channels.

Sixty-one percent responded that they receive some of their news from online sources, compared to 54% who cited radio news and 50 percent who cited newspapers.

A whopping 92 percent said they get their news from more than one source.
