White Says She Turned Down ‘SNL’ Hosting Gig Three Times Before

Mar 18, 2010  •  Post A Comment

Betty Mania has swept America, leaving Betty White scratching her head as to how it all came to be. White is slated to host "Saturday Night Live" in May, along with several other former "SNL" female cast members.

The 88-year-old White appeared on "Larry King Live" yesterday to talk about her recent popularity resurgence, and told King that she turned down an "SNL" hosting gig three separate times years ago, the Los Angeles Times reports. Her reasoning was that "SNL" is "so New York, and I’m not New York."

White added that she has no idea what "SNL" has planned for her, but that she’s up for anything.
