Mad Men Barbie Dolls.jpgA hit cable series is about to get one of its most unusual tributes yet: Mattel plans to bring out Barbie and Ken dolls modeled on four of its characters, the New York Times reports.

The show is “Mad Men” and the four characters getting dolls are leading man Don Draper and his wife, Betty along with his ad agency colleague Roger Sterling and Joan Holloway, the office manager who in early episodes was Roger’s mistress.

The dolls, for which Mattel paid licensing fees to producer Lionsgate, are intended for adults and at $74.95 each are part of Mattel’s Barbie Fashion Model Collection, the Times says. For the price, collectors get all the clothes of the period, but not other icons of the series: the cigarettes, ashtrays and martini glasses.

  1. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

  2. Interesting thoughts here. I appreciate you taking the time to share them with us all. It’s people like you that make my day 🙂

  3. Keep focusing on your blog. I love how we can all express our feelings. This is an extremely nice blog here 🙂
