CBS has switched actresses in the female lead role in a last-minute casting decision for Josh Schwartz’s comedy pilot "Hitched," Deadline.com reports.

Sara Fletcher is replacing Kristin Kreuk of "Smallville," who was originally cast in the role of newlywed Rachel, the site says. Fletcher previously had starred in Comedy Central’s "My Secret Girlfriend."

Kreuk had never before acted in a half-hour comedy and " ‘Hitched’ ultimately proved not a perfect fit for her’," the story says. The cast includes Jack Carpenter as Rachel’s husband and Eugene Levy, Kurtwood Smith and Sharon Lawrence as the couple’s parents.
