Dirty Word Alert: Guess WNYW’s Scotto Really Doesn’t Like Soy Milk

Apr 30, 2010  •  Post A Comment

WNYW-TV veteran anchor Rosanna Scotto took a page from fellow New York television news anchor Sue Simmons, who became known for her inappropriate slip of the tongue during a 2008 WNBC broadcast, the New York Post reports.

Scotto was engaged in a debate over what to call soy milk on morning program "Good Day New York," since the National Milk Producers Federation argues the term "milk" should only be used for animal products. Scotto blurted out her suggestion: "Soy ji–um!" Scotto’s co-anchor Greg Kelly looked at her in astonishment and said, "Rosanna!" in a reprimanding voice.

  1. Good for Rosanna. She put a positive spin on a stupid argument. Go into the store there is coconut milk, soy milk, almond milk, etc. The Milk Producers want to turn around the entire food industry for their product because sales are down. Give me a break!

  2. It wasn’t clever, funny or raunchy. Just about the grossest remark I’ve ever heard on broadcast news. She should be fired.

  3. sam hollender just cause u didnt like what was said does not mean she should be fired. i dont like your comment on this post so you should be banned from the internet…hows that?
