"Doctor Who" is one talented Time Lord: The U.S. season premiere of the U.K. show delivered BBC America its highest ratings ever, according to B&C.

The program was watched by 1.2 million total viewers, with 682,000 in the 25-54 year-old demographic, the article said.

The series kicked off the season by introducing Matt Smith as the latest version of Earth-saving Time Lord, replacing the popular David Tennant in the title role (Time Lords regenerate into new bodies when they’re near death, a nice habit that helps when an actor decides it’s time to move on.)
