Doug Ellin, creator/head writer and executive producer on HBO’s "Entourage," has signed a three-year extension with HBO that will cover the seventh and eighth seasons of "Entourage," along with his development projects, Variety reports.

Variety said Ellin is expected to flex his producer muscles as "Entourage" winds down, with a few projects in the pipeline already, including a politically-themed comedy revolving around a man who works for one of his idols, a president who has recently left the office.

"Entourage’s" newest season begins June 27.
