Despite so-so reviews for his performance last year, Ricky Gervais is returning as host of the 2011 Golden Globes, the Wrap reports.

The Globes, organized by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, takes place next year on Jan. 16 in Beverly Hills. 

Gervais is co-creator of "The Office" and "Extras."
