Barclays Capital is projecting a surge in upfront ad spending, B&C reports.

The big four broadcasters may see a 20% jump in ad spending compared to last year’s upfront. Thus, for the broadcasters, a total of $8.26 billion is what Barclays is prognosticating, the article says.

At the same time Barclays predicts that cable networks will see a 15% to 20% rise in ad spending.

    Media is a dying art. Cable is fragmented and all broadcast is dropping share. These lemmings that pay more every year instead of figuring new and unique way to reach their audience.

  2. There may be an increase in the upfront as there is more competition for the few programs that still get a strong audience. But I agree with NoONe that overall spend on TV will be level.
