NBC Pushing ‘Late Night’ Host for Emmy Gig

NBC is broadcasting this year’s Emmy Awards presentation and has been promoting "Late Night" star Jimmy Fallon to the TV Academy board members as the right choice to host, reports Variety.

The announcement is expected to be made next week. According to Variety, TV Academy Board members appeared to be swayed by Fallon for the job.

If Fallon is not chosen, other candidates include Amy Poehler, Jerry Seinfeld or a combination of Tina Fey and Steve Carell, which would capitalize on their on-screen teaming in the big-screen comedy "Date Night."
