Universal Sports, a jointventure between NBC Universal and InterMedia Partners, has chosen a top Fox executive to run the company.
David Sternberg, an experienced executive from Fox Sports, having worked with the Fox Soccer Channel, Fuel TV and Fox Sports en Español, has been chosen as CEO of Universal Sports, reports Multichannel News.
Universal Sports airs as a digital subchannel in many markets.
In addition, Perkins Miller is going to be COO. Miller has served as senior VP, Digital Media at NBC Sports and Olympics.
Sternberg will be based in the Universal Sports’ Westlake, California offices, but the sales and digital operations are going to remain back east. Miller is going to working in New York and will oversee NBC’s Olympic digital effort for the 2012 London Games.
