"John King, USA" has hit a new low point for the four-week-old show, TVNewser reports. The show drew an average of just 54,000 viewers in the 25-54 year old demographic on Wednesday, the lowest for the cable-news network since Dec. 15, 2004, when the network averaged 41,000 in the demographic during the 7 p.m. hour.

Among total viewers, John King attracted 314,000 people, the lowest number in the time slot since Dec. 25, 2007, the report says. King got the anchor slot in the 7 p.m. time period after Lou Dobbs quit the network in November.

  1. What a shame John King has low ratings. He’s a good as Tim Russert was. His competetion is pretty stiff.

  2. like everything on cnn it’s all tired, boring and perceived to be too one sided, but like all networks’ upper mgmt they will take forever to make necessary improvements to adequately compete for audience, it’s a shame and similar to dinnertime broadcast network news shows

  3. John King is a tea bagger. At least with lou Dobbs, we knew where he stood.
Also, to recoup viewers CNN needs to do the following:
    1. STOP TAKING SO MANY COMMERCIAL BREAKS
    2. Fire Larry King
    3. Fire Campbell Brown (she is married to a GOP tea bagger)
    4. Fire John King (a tea bagger) and his wife Dana.
    5. Fire these old reporters on the morning shows.
    6. Replace Candy Crowley…too fat and lazy.
…then I might think of watching again.
