A Musical Episode from…’NCIS’?

It seems everyone on television is breaking into song. "NCIS" may become the latest drama to create a musical episode, the New York Post reports.

According to the article, " ‘We have talked about it,’ said Michael Weatherly, the actor who plays Agent Tony DiNozzo. ‘There are certain people that think that it would be a disaster and it’s Fonzie jumping the shark tank.’ "

"Fringe" aired a musical episode last month, while "How I Met Your Mother" recently marked its 100th episode with Neil Patrick Harris singing about suits.

There’s some musical talent on "NCIS", with David McCallum, who plays Dr. "Ducky" Mallard, having released four records in the 1960s when he was co-starring in "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." and Cote de Pablo, who plays Ziva David, trained in musical theater. Weatherly said he’d like to cover "What’s New Pussycat" if the episode comes to fruition.

In a separate interview with TV Guide, Weatherly says he’s "extremely optimistic" that he’ll return to the show next season. Negotiations are "ongoing, but I’m extremely positive about the outcome," he said.
