Another TV Legend May Follow Betty White as a ‘SNL’ Host

The success of Betty White as a host on "Saturday Night Live" has given birth to a campaign on Facebook promoting Carol Burnett to be the next TV icon to appear on the show, reports Mediaite.

The New York Times wrote about the possibility of 77-year-old Burnett doing the show and
the Facebook page called “Carol Burnett to Host SNL (PLEASE?)!” If Lorne Michaels is listening, the Carol Burnett appearance would have to be next season because the "SNL" season finale is Saturday, with Alec Baldwin hosting.

  1. Carol Burnett hosting SNL has made way too much sense for decades! Not sure why this has never happened. A shame it didn’t happen at least a few years ago when Carol was more on her game…but this still would be a great match-up. Seems likely Carol would not be as game to be as edgy and spout bleepable words. If White refused to do anything because it crossed the line I’d have to wonder how incredibly off-color it was considering what she did do.

  2. As long as we get a Tarzan yell…
I used to love her monologues on her show as a kid.

  3. Carol’s never done SNL because when Lorne launched the show in 1975, he held up The Carol Burnett Show as a perfect example of what SNL would never be. He felt it was way too smug for its own good, and achingly conventional in its approach to sketch comedy.
I’m sure Lorne’s mellowed a bit since then, and could very well warm up to having Carol host SNL. Whether Carol would do it is another matter entirely, given that she’d be forced to play off of SNL’s inept, uncharismatic and decidedly proletarian cast.

  4. Thanks for sharing this valuable information with us, I am very much surprised after reading this blog.
