CBS will be the most-watched U.S. television network in primetime during the 2009-10 season, which ends this week, giving it seven wins in eight years, reports Reuters.

Fox will rank as the network that drew the most viewers in the 18- to 49-year old age group, while its "American Idol" will end the season as the top program for the seventh year running.

While ABC and NBC are in the running to end the season in third place, ABC looks set to finish in second place behind Fox in the 18-to-49 demographic. The ratings show CBS with an average nightly audience of 11.7 million in primetime, followed by Fox with 9.9 million, ABC with 8.6 million and NBC with 8.2 million.
