‘Daily Show’ Told to Keep Quiet on Muslim Extremists

Comedy Central’s "The Daily Show" Islamic correspondent Aasif Mandvi has been told to keep quiet on Muslim extremist threats following the bombing attempt in New York’s Times Square, Fox411.com reports.

Mandvi was asked not to comment further on Muslim extremists after he remarked on air that what upset him more than seeing the Muslim prophet Muhammad in a cartoon would be "someone, in the name of a faith that I believe in, threatening another person for doing it."

The request comes just weeks after after extremists threatened the creators of "South Park," the Comedy Central series. As a result, the "South Park" episode, which featured Muhammad, was altered with beeps and censor bars.

  1. So we alter OUR way of life to appease the extremists. Sounds like Osama is winning this war. If we want to win we keep expressing our views, if he is taken out in some form, two more should stand up and take his place.
If this is the way we fold so easily at home, then is there really a need to have troops over there? NO!

  2. Amen, I couldn’t agree more. It’s an especially sad day when comedy is censored in order to appease our enemies. Comedy Central, GET A PAIR!

  3. If I had a pair, I’d post a filthy cartoon of Mohammad along with my name, address, phone number, and picture. Then I’d be a dead guy, with a pair.
Feel free to take my place, if you have a pair.

  5. Andy,
I cannot back up or take the place of someone who is not willing to take a stand. This is the problem with our country and it’s politicians, they are not willing to stand up for anything that is right. They only stand for what is best for them to get re-elected.
If you are not willing to stand up for freedom of speech, what was the point of the last 2 world wars.
We are now willing to let our own government continue to remove our rights for political gain (miranda rights, patriot act, etc.) and to feel good about doing something.
If we are not willing to stand for our own Bill of Rights, there is no point to continue as a nation.

  6. Tim, so when can I expect that cartoon along with your personal info?

  7. How about we no longer allow muslims to immigrate to the US until this nonsense stops?
