No longer will anyone be able to say, critically, of "American Idol" judge Ellen DeGeneres, "What does she know about the music business?"

DeGeneres will announce on her talk show today that she’s starting a record label, and that the first artist she’s signed is 12-year-old Grayson Chance, reports New York Magazine’s Vulture blog.

If you’ve seen the wildly popular (over 20 million hits) YouTube video (below) of his version of Lady Gaga, "Paparazzi," you’ll see that DeGeneres in not really taking a chance with Chance.

In a taped segment on DeGeneres’ program that will air today, the talk show host announces plans for the label, which will be called eleveneleven.

Her decision comes on the heels of David Letterman’s announcement that has started his own music label, called Clear Entertainment/C.E. Music Letterman’s label has signed pop-punk band Runner Runner.

  1. This timing seemed to be a direct slap in the face to Idol and especially the finalists by one of the judges. One more indication that this season just didn’t have the quality of talent we have seen other years.

  2. When the weather is warm and you are prepared to have lots of fun, fashion is a little more carefree and casual. It’s great to wear those cool outfits, having fun under the sun and spend some time with your best buddies. The footwear is also more playful and casual for hot weather and everyone has their favorite pair of girls’ sandals.

  4. This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.cheap shirt wholesale

  6. Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

  7. I love the way you write and also the theme on your blog. Did you code this yourself or was it done by a professional? I’m very very impressed.
