Fox Sports has tapped, a DirecTV executive as its president, reports Multichannel News.
He’s Eric Shanks, DirecTV executive vice president of entertainment, and he’ll succeed Ed Goren. Goren, in turn, will fill the newly created roll of vice chairman of Fox Sports Media Group beginning June 1. Shanks and Goren will report to Fox Sports Media Group Chairman David Hill.
Shanks had joined DirecTV in 2004 and had created several of the company’s interactive sports services including the NFL Red Zone Channel.
