ABC picked up the pilot for the legal drama "The Whole Truth," but the original lead actress has decided not to appear in the show when it begins filming for the new season, reports TV Guide.

Joely Richardson was cast as the top officer of the New York D.A.’s department, but personal problems have caused her to drop out.

The deaths of Lynn Redgrave, her aunt, Corin Redgrave, her uncle, and her sister Natasha, were influential in her choosing to spend more time with her family. The pilot was filmed last March.
