It may be an unusual programming move, but one that will get "Lost" fans cheering: the finale of the show will run an extra half-hour, airing from 9 p.m. until 11:30 p.m., the Hollywood Reporter’s The Live Feed blog reports.

The extra time means local news will be pushed back, and "Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost," a post-finale special, will now air at 12:05 a.m. The reason for the extra time? "The producers of ABC’s hit drama have shot so much crucial material for the show’s hugely anticipated series finale that the network has agreed to extend the last episode," according to the article.
