‘MacGruber’ Sets All-Time Box Office Low for ‘SNL’-Based Big Screen Features

May 24, 2010  •  Post A Comment

Opening to a dismal $4.1 million, "MacGruber," based on a sketch from NBC’s "Saturday Night Live," set an all-time opening box office low for "SNL"-based films, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Spoofing "MacGuyver" and 1980’s action films, "MacGruber" actually opened smaller than 1980’s "The Blues Brothers," despite the large difference in ticket prices between then and now.

  1. A real pity, because it was incredibly well received during its early screening at my University (Syracuse University). It has some really great moments.

  2. Not the All-Time low for a SNL Film, though. That will continue to be held by Ladies Man.

  3. Just in case you didn’t know… your site looks very bizarre in Firefox on a Mac

  4. High quality info here! Keep up the great work. I love the feelings being expressed.
