In advance to the NBC Upfront, the network announced today three shows ordered for the new season: two comedies, "Outsourced" and "Love Bites," and a drama called "The Event," according to the Hollywood Reporter.
"Outsourced" stars Ben Rappaport as an American transplant to India, teaching his company’s call center about all things American. "Love Bites" is an hour-long romantic comedy anthology series, and "The Event" stars Jason Ritter as he investigates his fiancee’s disappearance, only to expose a massive national cover-up.
NBC entertainment president Angela Bromstad said of the early pickups, "We love these three shows and it made sense to pick them up right now. Each of these three series reflects a unique point of view and distinct style of quality that fits perfectly with NBC’s dedication to rebuilding the schedule."
Earlier this week, NBC ordered J.J. Abram’s new spy show, "Undercovers."
