Showtime’s Summer Schedule to Premiere New ‘Weeds,’ Introduce Three New Shows, Including One Starring a Three-Time Oscar Nominee

Showtime’s summer schedule will include the wrap-up of current shows such as "Nurse Jackie," the premiere of a new season of "Weeds" and introduce three new shows, Multichannel News reports.

"Weeds," which returns Aug. 16, will track the Botwins as they flee the Mexican FBI, police and organized crime.

The show will provide a lead-in for "The Big C," which stars three-time Oscar nominee Laura Linney as a suburban mom dealing with terminal cancer.

"The Real L Word," another new show, takes a reality angle to Showtime’s scripted drama "The L Word" by following a group of real-life Los Angeles lesbians. The third new program, "The Green Room with Paul Provenza," will bring together comedians to talk about the craft of making people laugh.
