An insider at ABC has revealed that the network is developing a new version of  a J.J. Abrams hit, according to E! Online.

The series which launched Jennifer Garner into stardom, "Alias," is being considered for a reboot, the article says, though without any of the original actors from the previous show and a new set of adventures for the Sydney Bristow character. That was the character Garner played.

ABC would like to see something from Abrams, who currently is doing the NBC series "Undercovers," according to the report.

Interestingly, one TVWeek reporter noted that after watching clips of "Undercovers" at NBC’s upfront presentation, more than one commentator said the show seemed to resemble "Alias" meets "Mr and Mrs. Smith."
