We’ve lost another of the famous ladies who starred on the classic NBC sitcom "The Golden Girls,"  according to People.com.

Actress Rue McClanahan, who played Blanche on the classic series, has passed away at the age of 76.

People reports that according to McClanahan’s manager, Barbara Lawrence, McClanahan suffered a massive stroke. "She passed away at 1 a.m. this morning," said Lawrence, who also noted that her family had been nearby because Rue had been in failing health since heart surgery
last year followed by a minor stroke.

For her role as Blanche on "The Golden Girls," McClanahan was an Emmy winner.

The remarkable Betty White, 88, who may currently be more popular than ever in her career, is now the only surviving member of the four women who starred in "Golden Girls."  White played Rose on the sitcom.  Bea Arthur (Dorothy) died from cancer last year. Estelle Getty (Sophia) died in 2008.

Here’s a Golden Scene with McClanahan (in pink) from "The Golden Girls." Thank you, Blanche.

  1. The suggestion I am giving always to all my students is more than all to study the music profoundly… music is like the sea, and the instruments are little or bigger islands, very stunning for the flowers and trees.
