An Emmy Award-winning actress is returning to television as part of Showtime’s new comedy "The Big C," reports TV Guide.
Best known for her role as Miranda on HBO’s "Sex and the City," Cynthia Nixon will be playing Cathy’s (Laura Linney) friend Rebecca, a former college friend who re-enters Cathy’s life and stirs things up.
Nixon is slated for four episodes of "The Big C," which premieres Monday, Aug. 16, on Showtime.
