The Federal Communications Commission has placed the brakes on its process for vetting the Comcast-NBC Universal merger, saying the companies didn’t provide complete responses to a May request for information, B&C reports.
The FCC also said the companies didn’t follow directions in its information request, which sought data on subjects ranging from channel lineup to organizational structure, the article says. As a result, the companies were sent letters on Thursday to alert them that the FCC was stopping its clock on its review until they had fully completed the request.
A Comcast spokeswoman said it plans to resubmit the information as soon as it can, and described the earlier submission as having "technical issues."
