‘Lord of the Rings’ Trilogy Star Takes Cable Role; Reportedly His First Major U.S.TV Gig

Elijah Wood will star in the FX comedy pilot "Wilfred," the report says.The show is based on "a bizarre Australian series of the same title about a jealous boyfriend who keeps imagining that his girlfriend’s dog is just a man in a mutt’s costume," according to the article.

Wood will play the boyfriend, Ryan, while Jason Gann, who co-created and starred in the Australian program, will play the dog, Wilfred. David Zuckerman is executive producing and wrote an adapted pilot script, the article says.
