One of the actresses on the original "Melrose Place" TV series has been arrested for vehicular manslaughter in a Somerset, New Jersey, car accident in which alcohol may have been a factor,  the New York Daily News reports.

The actress is Amy Locane-Bovenizer, who played the waitress Sandy in the first 12 episodes of the original "Melrose Place."

In the accident, a car Locane-Bovenizer was reportedly driving reportedly struck another car, the report said, adding that the passenger of the other car, "Helene Seeman was pronounced dead at the scene while Fred Seeman, who was driving, was airlifted to a hospital and is in critical condition."

The article said that "[t]he actress admitted she had downed several glasses of wine before driving, according to court papers.’Responding officers detected the odor of alcohol on defendant Locane-Bovenizer’s breath and observed other signs of impairment,’ prosecutors said."

According to the report, "The incident followed another crash that same evening in which the 39-year-old actress rear-ended a car in Princeton and then drove off, prosecutors told The Star-Ledger."
