One of the first games to for Kinect, the motion-detecting camera systems for Microsoft’s XBox 360, will be a dancing-and-singing game featuring images of the late pop star, reports the Associated Press.
The game, from game developer Ubisoft, will come out around the same time as the November debut of a new album of unreleased Jackson songs, the article says.
As previously reported, as a pre-kick-off to this year’s E3 gaming convention in Los Angeles, Microsoft launched Kinect on Sunday with a multi-million dollar event featuring Cirque du Soleil.
According to this latest AP story, game manufacturer Ubisoft marketing executive Tony Key said about the new Moonwalking game, "Your goal is to dance like Michael. Do what the guy on the screen is doing and you’re there. It’ll score you based on the quality of your performance."
The game will also be available for Sony’s new motion-sensing Move system for its Playstation.
According to the article, "The game’s launch will roughly coincide with the November debut of a new album containing unreleased Jackson recordings. Versions of the game, which will feature songs from Jackson’s catalog, including "Billie Jean" and "Beat It," will also be available for Nintendo’s Wii and the Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable handheld consoles….Ubisoft has already found the right moves with the dancing game genre. The game maker’s ‘Just Dance,’ released for the Wii last year, has sold more than 3 million copies worldwide."
