More Japanese Game Shows Headed to U.S.

After the success of ABC’s "I Survived a Japanese Game Show," the U.S.-based A. Smith & Co. and Japan’s Taiyo Kikaku Co. are creating a partnership to collaborate on more programs, the Hollywood Reporter reports.

A. Smith’s founder Arthur Smith described the deal as "a complicated, multifaceted arrangement," and it’s unclear whether the pact includes monetary payments, the story says. Under the agreement, A. Smith will adapt the Japanese company’s formats for U.S. television, while Taiyo Kikaku will do the same for A. Smith’s show in Japan and Asia. The companies also plan to collaborate and co-produce new programs, the article says.
