Craig Kilborn’s new show, which will debut today, Monday, June 28, 2010, for a limited summer run on some Fox stations, may be more similar to his version of "The Daily Show," which he hosted from 1996 until 1998, rather than his "The Late Late Show," reports Joe Flint in the Los Angeles Times.

The new program, a half-hour show called "The Kilborn File," will open with Kilborn and partner Christine Lakin, an actress known for her role on ABC’s "Step by Step," riffing on the day’s news, the article says. That will be followed by a round-table discussion with a mixture of academics, athletes and comics, as well as his staple of "Five Questions" and a well-known guest, the story adds.

If it’s successful, the show may be introduced across the country next year. But if it doesn’t, the article adds, Kilborn says he won’t be too upset: "All I ever wanted to be was an old man with a dog."
