Michael Pennie, co-executive producer of "Outsourced," has signed a two-year overall deal with Universal Media Studios, the Hollywood Reporter reports.

Pennie had previously worked as the co-executive producer of NBC’s "My Name Is Earl" before joining "Outsourced," which is scheduled for NBC’s Thursday night line-up in the fall.

It’s the first overall deal for Pennie, who had also previously written for CBS’ "Yes, Dear." Pennie said he plans to focus on "Outsourced" during the first year of the deal, then work on developing new shows for the second year.
